RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES

One of the frequent requests we get as Real Estate professionals around Wickenburg Arizona is for Retirement communities.  In asking for a retirement community most people are referring to a community like Sun City that has age restrictions.  Fifty five and older has always been common, and lately we have seen forty eight and older.  In the case of a married couple it is generally only one of the two that has to meet the age restriction.

            If you are set on purchasing a home in a designated adult community then you may not find what you are looking for in Wickenburg.  For the most part Wickenburg does not offer any adult only communities.  The exception to the rule is our two mobile home parks.  West Park, and Country Club Park are mobile home parks along Highway 60 in Wickenburg.  Both of these communities are designated 55 or older.  While we are on the topic of these two mobile home parks it is important to note that you can not own the land in these parks, you can only lease the spaces.

            Wickenburg is however close in proximity to Sun City Grand, Sun City Festival, and Sun City West, as well as Happy Trails mobile home park where you can own the lots.  Those communities are all designated adult communities, but they are also much closer to the congestion of the big city than is Wickenburg.  Most of the buyers in Wickenburg are here for our small town atmosphere, clean air, and open spaces, which is in contrast to these huge master planned communities.

            What you will find if you come to visit Wickenburg is that the majority of our community is a retirement area.  Even though our communities are not age restricted you will almost certainly find that the majority of the population of any given neighborhood are of retirement age.  There are some exceptions, as we do have some areas that attract more families, but the bottom line is that if you are looking for a peaceful, secure retirement community you won’t be disappointed in the least bit as you shop for a home around the Wickenburg area.
