Wickenburg Bypass information
Highway 93 is the primary access between Phoenix and Las Vegas. An improvement project is ongoing with the goal of providing a divided highway between the two cities.
THE BYPASS PROJECT IS FINISHED!
Two bypasses will be constructed in Wickenburg as part of this project. The first one is called the interim bypass and is underway currently. This bypass will take the traffic around the downtown area. The Second bypass is many years out, but will eventually take traffic from near Morristown Arizona to just North of Wickenburg. When completed the permanent bypass will serve as part of the Canada to Mexico Trade route and will keep all the traffic several miles from the town.

Interim Bypass
One of the first steps was building the new bridge
across the Hassayampa River.
Now that traffic is diverted across the new the older of the two current
bridges will be torn down, and the remaining old bridge will be
converted into a pedestrian bridge.

Sunday
June 14th 2009 was first day traffic was sent over the new bridge.
The bypass project features two roundabouts, at this point the full
bypass is not open but traffic is being directed through one of the two
roundabouts.
