Sols wash Flood Mitigation Project
Until this year the Sols Wash Flood plain has extended well over the North banks of the wash. When the engineers starting mapping things out for the bypass project they realized that the bypass was going to be in the flood plain. Hence the creation of the Flood Mitigation Project.
The Idea is to Widen, straighten and raise the banks of the wash to increase the water capacity.
The first steps were taken in mid 2007 when the old growth trees along the banks of the wash were cut down. In November 2007 is when the real work began.
